“If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.”

                                                                                                                          – Alexander Hamilton

Now is the time to take a stand for what you believe in. Even if it’s contrary to popular trends. Contrary to what is expected. And contrary to what others want. Join me in taking a stand to do the right thing. Help me take this stand. Join our volunteer team. Make a difference.

WHAT I STAND FOR

FOLLOWING MY CONSCIENCE

“Congress Minister Milind Deora today went against the Congress stand on the Supreme Court verdict on convicted lawmakers and said that protecting the convicted MPs and MLAs would make public lose their faith in democracy.” Firstpost.com Sep 26th 2013

I staked my career, and yes, I was nervous. Now, looking back, I am extremely proud to have played a catalytic role in helping cleanse our politics and leaving behind a permanent impact.

FIGHTING FOR LARGER SOCIAL GOOD AGAINST VESTED INTERESTS

“The limiting reference levels of electromagnetic radiation from mobile towers has been reduced to 1/10th of the limit prescribed by global body, with effect from September 1, 2012”

I am gratified to have played a significant role in setting much lower permissible limits for mobile tower radiation and for laying down responsible guidelines for the States in consultation with experts from civil society.

 BIPARTISANSHIP OVER PARTISAN POLITICS

@milinddeora “Thank you for your continuous support for #campacola #savecampacola” – Mihir Rajesh Parikh, 28 Sep, 2013

Cutting across party lines, I worked with the affected victims of Campa Cola trying to get them a fair hearing and positive outcome.

EMPOWERING AND ENGAGING THE YOUTH

“Youth Parliament. What a memorable experience! Got the feel of what it is like to be a MP! Thank You @milinddeora” – Pooja Raghuwansi, Sep 24, 2013

I care deeply about making our youth more socially and politically aware so they can better engage with the system. We started India’s first ‘Parliament Visit’ initiative to Delhi in 2009 and ‘Youth Parliament’ event in 2012 and have had more than 350 students exposed to a parliamentary setting already for five years running now.

INITIATING A NEW ERA FOR INDIAN POLITICS

“Milind Deora has proven himself to be an excellent parliamentarian and stands head and shoulders above the rest…..I find him to be a dedicated, well-educated and articulate person. He is a forward thinking and planning oriented person – Adi Godrej, Chairman Godrej Group

Having raised 274 questions in the Lok Sabha and holding an attendance record of 88%, I have tried my best to fulfilled my duties as an M.P without compromising on my ideals and principles.
