Enrich, Enable and Empower through technology

The community outreach programs are conceived to assist fund starved schools to provide free computer education, free uniforms, textbooks and scholarships to children who cannot not afford basic education. Milind like any other reasonable citizen believes that genuine inclusive growth can be achieved only if the less fortunate and poor amongst us are educated and allowed to realize their aspirations. The program is an effort to take a small step in this direction. The mission being, To ENRICH, To ENABLE and To EMPOWER.

The outreach programs help provide Information Technology education based on the Maharashtra State Education Board’s syllabus to students. Under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) Milind has provided more than 40 schools with computer labs and another 110+ schools with Information Technology equipment.
After the 2009 General Elections the scope of these programs has increased to include vocational training, employment exchange and projects for economically weak urban women as well.

Creating opportunities for women across Mumbai

Today this program prepares and guides women in the slums to create self help groups. Smt. Shaila tai Gokhale has worked tirelessly to meet these women and help get them trained by institutions such as Maharashtra Mahila Vikas Mandal. The training imparted is primarily vocational and can vary from skills like handicrafts and sewing to making detergents. The program guides these women and backs their endeavour.

Recently medical camps were held in Colaba and Sewri, as pilot projects. Colaba had more than 310 people come in for checkups and Sewri had more than 250 people. Wockhardt was gracious enough to assist in this venture by providing medicines and doctors. As part of this programme every patient had three follow ups and in some serious cases Smt. Shaila tai Gokhale escorted the patients to the hospital herself. Many cases of cancer have been detected early and these patients have been able to successfully address their problems thanks to these camps. After the success of the Medical camps  there has also been an endeavour to provide ambulances and Mobile Medical units to serve different localities.
