On 29th December 2013, Mr. Milind Deora visited his constituency and inaugurated a slew of public interest initiatives. He inaugurated a free Cancer Detection Camp organized by Om Padmashali Seva Sangham and Indian Cancer Society, South Mumbai. Later in the day, he inaugurated Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk at Cuffe Parade which has been named after one of Maharashtra’s most prominent social reformers. He subsequently inaugurated various public works including water connections & ringwells in Machhimar Nagar and Colaba Market in his constituency.
On the same day, Mr. Deora visited Ambedkar Nagar slums and met the residents who had been displaced by a recent blaze. Mr. Deora along with the civic authorities has been working to rehabilitate them. He also visited the Colaba Transit Camp in his constituency. Mr. Deora is persuading the Army to allow the Maharashtra Government to construct affordable homes for its residents.
